Hours by youmightaswell: time, personal identity and connection

The youmightaswell mission

Behaviour intelligence for humans in a superintelligence world.

We’re taking our experience of enterprise business intelligence and turning the focus towards the individual consumer. The starting point is information that is relevant to you: how your priorities and your behaviour fit together, and how you choose to spend your time.

Hours is the first step in that direction, currently in early beta.

From whole life to this moment

Hours organises a week around Areas of Focus: the parts of your life you choose to plan for. You decide what those areas are and how much time to allocate to each.

You schedule time in the Calendar, then use Focus to see the current area and its associated cues. Revise the allocation and schedule as your priorities or commitments change.

01 / CHOOSE

Name what matters.

Choose the Areas of Focus you want to plan for, such as work, relationships, health or learning. You decide what each area includes.

02 / MAKE ROOM

Allocate your week.

Allocate the week’s 168 hours across your priorities. Compare what you meant to protect with what you have actually put in the Calendar.

03 / BE PRESENT

Meet the moment.

Use Focus and optional visual cues to make the transition into the kind of participation the current part of your day needs.

The trade-off
is the point.

More room for one area means making a choice elsewhere. Try these example weeks to see how the balance shifts.

These broad categories are illustrative. In Hours, you choose the Areas of Focus that make sense for your own life.

Getting to know Hours

Hours makes your intended time allocation and scheduled commitments available for comparison. Setting up your areas, deciding on allocations and reviewing the week require your judgement. The app provides information for those decisions; it does not decide your priorities or guarantee that you will follow the plan.
