A long-running curiosity.
A new direction.

Cloud BI Limited was founded on the belief that business intelligence could be more agile, more valuable and safer when supported by good DevOps practices.

Our consultancy work focused on cloud-based enterprise data warehouses, particularly Amazon Redshift, alongside automated environments, deployments and testing. We wrote about what we learned: the engineering choices, the delivery problems and the coordination mechanisms that made complex systems more predictable to operate.

That history matters to us because it shaped the way we think. Understand the problem. Make the trade-offs visible. Build something you can test and improve.

Cloud BI Limited is the creator, owner and operator of youmightaswell. Its mission is behaviour intelligence for humans in a superintelligence world. We’re starting with Hours, which is in early beta.

Our enterprise work helped organisations get value from information. With youmightaswell, we’re exploring the benefits of information that is relevant to an individual: their priorities, their behaviour and the way they spend their time. Hours begins with the 168 hours in a week, connecting life priorities, weekly allocation, a practical calendar and attention in the present moment.

We are not currently available for consultancy work. Our earlier articles are kept as a record of our experience and independent thinking, rather than as a description of services available to buy today.

Building a data platform and shaping a personal week are different problems. Some habits of thought transfer well: make constraints explicit, reduce unnecessary administration, use feedback and leave room to adapt.

Those habits run through our journal and inform the products we are building now. We prefer useful, inspectable work to promises about what technology might do.
